We have been made aware of a recent scam email which states that your SEO (search engine optimisation) software is about to expire. The email is aimed at tricking recipients into clicking a link to make a renewal payment for your website SEO and uses warnings to scare you into doing this stating that it will make it difficult for potential customers to find your website. These emails are a scam and you should never reply to it or click any of the links. Just delete the email from your account.
Even if an email uses a company logo never click a link asking you to make a payment. Genuine emails will never ask you to click a payment link from an email. Real ones will most likely notify you that your subscription is up for renewal but not include a link. The best thing to do if you are not sure if the email is real is to come direct to us or the company who provides SEO for your website.
Here is an example of one of the scam emails that are currently being sent round.
If you have already clicked one of the links don’t panic. As long as you haven’t entered any card details it should be fine. But to make sure it is advisable to run a virus scan on your computer just to be safe.
Any emails that we send out to customers never include a payment link. They will only notify you that a payment is outstanding and will contain a payment invoice. If you are not sure if an email has come from us give us a call and we will be more than happy to verify it for you.
